A Lovingston man is scheduled to appear Nov. 5 in Nelson County General District Court on charges stemming from an Aug. 8 arrest after authorities found more than one and a half pounds of methamphetamine at his residence.
Charles W. Spencer III, 35, had a hearing Aug. 14 after he was charged with four felonies and two misdemeanors. He is being held without bond at the Ablemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail.
Spencer has been charged with possession with intent to manufacture of a schedule I or schedule II substance, distribution or possession with intent of less than half an ounce of marijuana, eluding and endangering police, possession of a gun with schedule I or schedule II drug and two counts of the manufacture or sale of a controlled substance.
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Spencer’s residence at 112 Barn Hill Lane in Lovingston on Aug. 7 after six months of investigation, Nelson County Sheriff David Brooks said.
Four other Nelson County residents were arrested on Aug. 8 after they arrived at Spencer’s residence during the search.
