Nelson Chamber Christmas parade set for Dec. 7

The annual Nelson County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 7, beginning at the southern end of the village of Lovingston, traveling on Front Street and ending at the Packing Shed, where Santa will receive visitors.
This year’s parade them is “Inside Santa’s Workshop.”
Street vendors will be on hand with food and beverages.
There is no entry fee, but applications are necessary to establish a parade roster.
Ribbons will be awarded in the following categories: best theme float; most entertaining float; best formation marching unit; most entertaining marching unit; best of show horse and rider; best of show classic antique vehicle (1980 and older); best of show modified antique vehicle (1980 and older); best of show fire unit; best of show rescue unit; and judges’ choice award.
