Congratulations

These fine young, athletic and talented Nelsonians rose to the occasion on Saturday March 15 in Richmond to beat Surry County for the basketball state title.
The wonderful spirit of the Nelson County High School Spirit Band, thousands of cheering gold colored t-shirts and the outstanding leadership of the Nelson County High School coaching staff all came together to make this a very special highlight in the 200th anniversary of Nelson County.
We all appreciate the efforts of the Nelson County School Board and administration staff, the blue lights on the sheriff’s cars leading the procession from the beautiful grounds of Nelson County High school to the Albemarle County line, the excellent conduct of the Nelson students and basketball players.
The adage, “If you wait long enough, great things will happen,” came true that night.
